Welcome to the beautiful Chilterns area in England and to the CAWC Newcomers-pages. We are so happy you have found us! Let us introduce ourselves:
The CAWC is a very friendly network of International people who currently reside in the UK, usually as Ex-patriates. Although originally American, we currently hold a membership of over thirty nationalities including Japanese, Canadian, German, Mexican, Russian, Dutch, South-African, Danish, Belgian and English. We’ve probably forgotten some as well; our apologies for that!
Our goal is to help you get settled in your new home and to make the transition from abroad as smooth as possible. The reason we do this is because we know how it feels to move to another country, in which the language might not be our own, and to leave everything that is familiar to you behind. We act as your safety-net and will support you, so you can stay sane during this stressful time and once you are settled, we’ll help you make the best out of your expat experience.
One of our Activities for Newcomers are the Newcomers Coffee mornings. These are held four times per year, at a member’s house. Current members will share their knowledge about shopping, cleaning, houseguests, voting and much, much more. Please consider joining us at one of these meetings.
